The only difference I did was:

1.) Held throttle intact while going uphill
2.) Get into neutral, engines idle, (occasionally turn off when safe) while going downhill
3.) Slow down at right turns instead of stopping (had to apply brakes)
4.) Learned to "control" Automatic by driving at the speed that allows the TC (torque converter) to lock up.
5.) Studied Cruise Control, practiced to be like a Cruise Control with improvements to allow TC to lock up ASAP and slow down with highest gear still engaged.
6.) Turned engine off at traffic lights that are more than a minute long.

My current problem is how to slow down to a stop without applying brakes, how do I get around to that? How did you learn to do that?
To be honest, I still haven't learned to stop without applying brakes without hitting the person in front of you . You ultimately have to hit the brakes at some point. The best thing to do is not hit the red light by anticipating when it will turn red, or take as many right turns as possible to get to your destination so that you can take a right turn at the red light instead of sitting and waiting for green.

Anyway, hope that helps.
